​Hi! I am a researcher at the Centre for Functional Ecology (CFE), at the University of Coimbra.

I am fascinated by how marine species cope with the combined challenges of environmental change and human exploitation. I use bioinformatic, genomic and AI-based approaches to uncover the evolutionary and ecological processes shaping marine biodiversity and its responses to human pressures.

I am equally passionate about teaching and mentoring, and my aim is to train the next generation of scientists to think critically and creatively about marine conservation and the sustainable use of marine resources.
